The Mary Mackillop Centre
Salty breath brushes past my face and into the fresh spring air. We are at the Mary Mackillop centre learning about the Josephite sisters, well we were learning, but now we are eating our yummy lunch and looking at a marvelous view of Rangitoto.
The sparkling water glitters in the sunlight and the lapping waves makes the light blue wrinkle gracefully. The half asleep volcano has a foggy dark green colour that slopes up and down. The trees on the volcano stands proud and tall in their own little families.
When I look at the soft light green grass, I know that it is a sign of God’s love for us, and that I am fortunate to have a home, friends and a family that love me. The sun shines over the blowing lush green leaves that fall gracefully upon the earth.
Then I hear laughing and screaming, I turn my head and see lots of children running around and playing games. The shouts of children are loud and happy it makes me want to dance around like a butterfly.
I know that God has a loving guidance that looks after the old sisters, and I pray that I will one day be like them!

Mary's Diary
14 August 2016
Dear dairy
It is my best friend Ruby’s birthday party in 16 days. You’re probably wondering why I’m already counting up the days. Well it's because she's my only friend. My real friend, so don’t go telling me that she's just a doll because she has feelings to.
I have started sewing a new dress for the party and am thinking of a present that might appeal to her. She is turning 5 so she needs to be extra loved (you know what I mean… primary school). I HATE school, everyone knows that, so now you do to.

Dear diary
I’m sorry I didn't say why I have you yet. Well Miss Wilson said to practice my writing so my mum bought me you. You’re red with light pink gems. I think I’ll make you my secret diary, can we be friends? I’ve only got Ruby, talking about her I’m working on her dress good. Mum also bought some light green checkered fabric for MY new dress! Oh, today at school Heather (my archenemy and the worlds champion show_off) laughed at my new T-shirt “Mary's got babies clothes!” seriously, They are not babish! Its even black and yellow (which is the cool this year). Sorry, mum is calling, bye!

Henrietta and the Giant
W.A.L.T. write a narrative
which involves a typical character.
s.c we need to know
- that giants are often described as mean, ugly, aggressive, strong, stupid.
- that giants are usually out-witted by smaller heros/heroines.
In the earliest of victorian times, there was a small ruined cottage in the middle of an overgrown wood. And in it lived a pretty girl named Henrietta and her faithful dog Cloud. The two friends filled their days with hunting, caught fish, pheasants and possums. Next to the woods there lived a hideous giant who ate children, but he did not know that a little girl was his neighbor.
One day Henrietta went hunting, she came to a clearing, she heard a rustling, and out from behind a tall oak came…THE GIANT!
Cloud snarled angrily and ran fiercely towards him, “Come back girl, you won’t stand a chance against him!”But it was too late, the ugly brown toe nails had already crushed the poor dogs tail. Henrietta grabbed the biggest arrow from behind her, she aimed carefully and let go. It went flying in the air at a terrific speed, hit the giant in the middle of his head and fell deep in to the long tangled grass. The young maiden scooped up the dog and ran for dear life! The giant ignored the arrow and started to give chase (he had long legs so he just had to take big steps). Henrietta held her beloved dog to her chest and kept running faster and faster until the trees whizzed past her. Soon the giant was out of sight and only a snap of trees was heard in the distance, but Henrietta was a smart girl and knew that if she stopped he would catch up to her. Fortunately her head was forming a plan, a great plan that was already being put into action.
Henrietta pulled out all her arrows and stuck them in a row between two trees, she dragged a large log to about three metres away from the arrows. Finally she ripped of her jacket, tied it to the tree next to the fortress ( the arrows), found a long vine tied it to the jacket and held it tight. The girl waited, and waited until she heard a thumping and felt jumps. The hideous giant could now be seen! He ran towards the log, tripped over it and and fell face first onto the sharp arrows. The giant moned with the pain, Henrietta let go of the vine and the monster was captured. She jumped down from her perched place in a tree, took out a dagger and sliced his head off. “Victory is ours!” Henrietta shouted as she punched the air. The friends went home and Cloud’s wounds got better. They really did live happily ever after!
The End
